Broke My Beauty Box Cherry

I'm kind of like the 40 year old virgin. I was a late bloomer, I admit it. Now that I've done the deed, I am gonna keep doing it cause it was soooo good!

I started out my beauty box adventures with the extremely affordable Walmart Beauty box. I read mixed reviews but for $5 how can you really go wrong? Some beauty boxers were saying the products included were barely worth the $5 you spend, but if you discover a product you LOVE, I say it's worth it! The Walmart beauty box is a subscription but it does not come every month. It is seasonal. I think it basically comes 4 times a year. I received my 1st box in June, but received my 2nd box in July. I think that is only because I signed up at the end of May for the spring box which they still had in stock and then right after, the summer box became available.

The box is about 8 1/2 x 11 and about 2" deep and they packed a lot of samples in this box. The whole idea behind beauty boxes is to expose their subscribers to new brands you may have not heard of, or new products from brands you already know. In the case of Walmart, I was familiar with every brand but not familiar with the specific product necessarily.

Ok. I know this is only a $5 beauty box, but I am telling you, I was soooo excited to have these show up on my doorstep! The anticipation was overkill but I couldn't help it. I am pretty sure most of you fellow beauty swag lovers would feel the same.

And the reveal...

Walmart Spring Beauty Box

In my June beauty box I received the following samples:

Lady GaGa "Fame" eau de toilette (sample size spray)

Burt's Bees Renewal Intensive Firming Creme (foil pack)

Ken Paves Shampoo, Conditioner & Hair Mask (foil pack)

L'Oreal Total Repair 5 Shampoo & Conditioner (travel sizes)

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula (travel size)

Palmer's Skin Therapy Oil ( foil pack)

Garner Ultra Lift Miracle Sleeping Creme (foil pack)

Jergens BB BodyPerfecting Skin Creme (travel size)

Coupon for FREE Dry Spray Deoderant from Unilever which makes Degree, Dove, Axe (up to $5.47)

$1 off Coupon for Palmer's Sun Protection

$2 off any Garnier Moisturizer

For $5 I was totally ok with this box. The coupon for the Unilever brand deoderant will be used and made the box worth it. I admit I was not over the moon about the trail size shampoos, and moisturizers but again, they will be used. I was really happy to get a perfume sample though!

Here is the Summer box I received in July

FULL SIZE REVLON Ultra HD Lipstick in "Gladiolus" Did I mention it's FULL SIZE? SCORE! - LOVE!

Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara - LOVE! (sample size)

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel - LOVE! (travel size)

Aveeno Protect and Hydrate Lotion (travel size)

Dove Go Fresh Revitalizing Body Wash (travel size)

Clear Scalp & Hair Therapy Complete Care Shampoo (travel size)

Garnier Ultra Lift Miracle Sleeping Creme (foil pack, dupe from last box)

Olay Regenerist Luminous Tone Perfecting Creme (foil pack)

L'Oreal Total Repair 5 Shampoo, Conditioner, Hair Mask (foil pack, received travel size of shampoo & conditioner in Spring Box)

$2 off any Garnier Moisturizer

$2 off any Aveeno Sun Care Product

$2 off any Gray Away Root Concealer

$3 off any Olay Regenerist Luminist Moisturizer or Cleanser

That full size Revelon lipstick was the winner here! That is what made me love this box! I have tried two other products in this box as well. The Neutrogena Healthy Volume Mascara is AMAZING! It gives you super long lashes without clumps, I will buy that one for sure. Also from Neutrogena, The Hydro Boost Water Gel is divine, it makes my skin feel so smooth! I will buy that one too. The premise behind the beauty box worked. I discovered new products that I love and the brands discovered a new customer! Win, win.

If you can spare $20 a year the Walmart Beauty Box is a fun way to try new beauty products. I say GIVE IT A GO!

My next post will be about my Influenster Sunshine Vox Box that I got for FREE!

Buzzword... Beauty.

I have been in beauty product heaven lately! I have ALWAYS been a beauty product junkie but lately, OMG, I have taken it to an all time high! I have been playing "makeup" nearly everyday and have been documenting my new makeup looks and the products I use on Instagram.

I have been fortunate enough to have been chosen to test and review some new beauty products and I have been talking about them on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook and I thought I might as well talk about them here too!

I also have been having a great time discovering new favorites in the BEAUTY BOXES I subscribe to. It has been so fun and I am going to share all this cool stuff with you in more detail in upcoming posts.

So please come back and visit again! Check out product hauls, beauty boxes and some reviews on new products!

Birthday Inspired Summer Fun Bucket List

Well, today is my birthday, and after thinking about all the wonderful blessings my 30+ years has brought me, I am really having a hard time deciding how I want to spend my special day. It kinda feels like any ol' day. All of the ideas I come up with seem better suited to " another day this summer".
So for my birthday, I am making my Summer Fun Bucket List, which I will show to my family and make them PROMISE to complete. They have no choice, they have to say "yes", because it's my birthday!
This bucket list may seem a bit on the "big deal" side to you, but believe me, to schedule my family of 7 to follow through with this list and the ability to finance these excursions for 7 people, WILL be a BIG DEAL! It really is hard to plan family events with the attendance of all of my boys in tow, thanks mostly to the fact that 3 of the boys play baseball, rec league and a travel team, and having two teenagers one of whom has a job? I am not delusional though, I know that most of these activities will take place without, at least one of my sons, and quite possibly without my hubby.
Let The Bucket Listing Commence!
WHITE SOX night game AFTER a whole day in the city!
An ENTIRE day of shopping, including a lunch that involves alcoholic beverages!

One weekend away with my WHOLE family, I don't even care where or when...
A GIRLS ONLY day at a local WINERY
Camping - every year I try, but it has been YEARS since we went camping!
Another White Sox Game
Party at the Mulhall's
Family Fun Shooting Day with ALL of my boys!
Hiking at Rock Cut WITH Tim
A least one more SOX game
None of these seem that difficult to carry out do they? Now, take away half of our weekends, due to baseball tournaments. Just that alone cuts my chances of completing this bucket list in half! To most families this bucket list is a walk in the park, but for my biggish, busy family, it really is a challenge!
The question is, are the Mulhall Boys up for this challenge?
All I have to say is,
or else!
